A Inutilidade da Arte: Uma visita ao Inhotim
Art is a representation that doesn’t need an objective meaning or a practical purpose. Though seemingly useless from a human objective perspective, it brings life and makes it possible. As a manifestation of the spirit, art requires a predisposition to create and experience it. The observer becomes a co-author, and art is not fully realized outside the collective. The Inhotim Institute serves as a metaphor for art, providing a transformative experience amidst the harsh external environment. Each art installation – by Yayoi Kusama, Grada Kilomba, and Cildo Meireles – evokes unique sensations and challenges the observer’s perceptions. Ultimately, art’s lack of utility is its greatest strength.
